La Mer and Dewey House Reviews

A large group of us went to Key West for my thirty-fifth birthday party weekend. We were all able to stay at the La Mer Hotel and Dewey House. What a miraculous find! The guest rooms are beautifully set up, and they have amazing views overlooking the sandy beach and Atlantic ocean. They are perfectly located at the quieter end of popular Duval Street, with absolutely everything you could want to do in walking distance. The stupendous three pools are available for all of the guests at the Southernmost Hotel and Southernmost on the Beach Resort. A very useful  concierge service is available to help you book anything you want to do.

The area houses several excellent restaurants within a a short walk away We loved Louie's Backyard. The tasty Breakfast is lovely with made-to-order waffles, and a great treat in the afternoon is the tea served every day. Sitting on the delightful terrace just lounging around and enjoying yourself, or you can read a book,  you get the feeling that  you're on a tropical island. It really is like a world within a world, you wont want to leave.

Beyond all of the amenities, the staff will astound you with their helpfulness. Every person there was friendly and happy to assist us with absolutely everything we needed. We particularly loved Lisa Malcolm who helped us book tours and things for such a large group, she also gave us wonderful ideas for the best types of places that will make a group outing more unique.  She was always a joy to work with, incredibly professional, and had a pleasing attitude. She was a really fun person. Then there was John, our innkeeper, he totally made our stay that much better. You can tell how much he loves his job and revels in hosting people. He was fun and comical person to be around. All of this made us feel right at home on vacation. We  left feeling like we were leaving new friends behind. I would recommend the Dewey and La Mer house to aanyone who is going to Key West, unless you have kids (adults only). They have other properties like the Southernmost on the beach that will allow children. It was the perfect place to stay, and we are going to make plans to go back.

We stayed at the Dewey House for our honeymoon and it was more than we were expecting. The staff and hospitality was unmatched in any other place we have stayed in before. Our excellent room was spacious and so very elegant, the bed was ultra comfortable, and the food was surprisingly like a four star chef had prepares it. My opinion about this property is that it doesn't get any better on the island of  Key west then the Dewey House......
